   rightmove.co.uk also shows properties in france, spain etc. They are a large company and I should imagine they could be trusted to give accurate information.

   I was looking at properties in France on thier site this morning.

   The first question is : where do you want to buy a property ?

   You have local real estate agencies, best way is to plan a visit around, speak with people and discover the surroundings and the real value of the property.

   Don’t forget to visit notary (there are kind of lawyer for formal and legal selling acts but can also have some activities linked to real estate.

   There is also FNAIM website (national group for real estate agencies).

   The best way to change your pounds into euro : banks or change agencies!

   It really depends what you want from a site. I’d like one with loads of properties to leaf through and nose at, but if you want a site where once you have spoken to them, they do the hard work, then contact these guys:

   Either type in immobilier or notaire and the area you wish to buy. Notaires are normally cheaper commision rates . You will find most french notaires (soliciters) & immobiliers (estate agents) have somebody who speaks english & ,unlike english based agencies , they will remove properties when they are sold. From experience there is nothing worse than travelling to France to view your perfect propery only to be told ” sorry we sold it yesterday” In fact the property has been sold for months or even years but they never seem to check until you arrive.
