no, that would be a sign of ignorance with all the hurricanes that have occurred in the last 5 years

It depends on what you mean by “wealth”. It surely signifies that you have above average wealth.

Only if it’s completely paid off..Otherwise, I think it’s a bad investment, and a stupid move.

Yes I can see peoples reaction would be that way, its just your good luck to have recieved an inheritence. You could even rent it out and make some coin at the same time? Maybe in the winter then use it for summer stays on the holiday season?

Sterotypically, upper-class people have second homes (beach houses or country houses) and in a desirable area such the shore, it sounds nice. As many know, it expensive to have one house, but im sure when people hear you have two, it sounds even more impressive, and others may get a little jealous. Be happy you have a house on the shore. Even if it is just one bedroom, it perfect if you dont have children.

it depends on the location because that little one bedroom beach house could be worth double in 10 years my beach house increased in value of 100k in 3 years so people who own beach houses but not lambos and nice sports cars are smart but people who one one house with bmw’s and benzes but cant afford to go to a nice beach house are stupid. a bmw and benz wont make you rich but owning beach property will. so that answers your question that your wealthy in your brains

Gotta love the jersey shore. My family owns property in two different towns in south jersey. We’re not the richest family but you gotta have some money to keep and maintain two houses that people look to rent every summer.

It sounds like jealousy, so I wouldn’t let it bother either of you, maybe what you could do is invite them to stay in it for a week when you and your brother are not using it.

I think people will assume you are rich when you say that you have a vacation home. The normal hard working people can’t afford such things. You are lucky to have it, even if it is small. Hang on to it, when you and your brother get older and have families it will be nice to have so you can just get away for the weekend. Don’t sell it unless it is a last resort! I remember when I had a chance to buy some lake front property and didn’t. I sure regret it now! And tell all those jealous people to shut up!

    Definately a stero type.
Have you two found a realtor to rent it out when you are not using it. Let it make some money for you!!
