    Get legal advice. Or write off he loss. Insurance companies have a lot of money and are very tenacious, in NOT paying. These are your only options.

    You need to hire a pro to handle this. Your insurance company is attempting to intimidate you into accepting less.

    this is typical on an arson case. they do an investigation to be sure you are not the one who set the fire or to see if it may have been someone you knew. arson is a crime and insurance will investigate it as such.

    Actually, that waiver was in small print, on your application. They’ve probably already done that, didn’t find anything, and now are trying to scare you into a confession, or something.

    If you don’t want to sign it, they are going to deny the claim for failure to comply with the policy conditions.

    You can say no, as soon as you’re ready for the insurance company to deny the claim. Because the second you say no, the insurance company does NOT have to pay the claim any more.
